Hey guys! Little bit of a different post today, a couple of weeks ago I watched The White Queen on the BBC and loved it so much I got addicted to it! Once the season had ended it made me inquire more into the origins of the series and that is where I stumbled across Philippa Gregory. She was the writer of The White Queen which is the book that the series was based on, I then downloaded and read The White Princess on my iPad. I guess I should have read The White Queen and the other books first but I just couldn't resist! This was the first Philippa Gregory book that I read and I just loved it! I couldn't stop reading it and it certainly annoyed my boyfriend because I literally refused to put it down! I was a bit disappointed in the ending because I felt that it just got cut off and I would have to say if I hadn't watched the tv series I wouldn't have known a lot of the pre context that you needed to read this book. One of my favourite aspects of the book was the fact that Gregory wrote in that Elizabeth of York began to see how she affected Queen Anne when she was having an affair with her Uncle King Kichard when her own husband Henry VII started courting someone else. This is an interesting concept considering this is not a known part of history. I like this touch that she has added. I'm not going to get on and start reading The White Queen and the other books in the Cousins War series.
Are there any books that you have read recently that you loved?
